We continue our Meet the gravity9’ers series with the introduction of Bartosz Struzik.

What is your role at gravity9 (and what is your expertise)? 

I am a Lead QA Consultant. Currently, I’m working in a hybrid mode, leading a QA team while still involved in hands on, technical aspects of testing. I like this mix of responsibilities; this allows me to work with people and computers!

What advice would you give to someone looking to excel in your line of work? 

Surround yourself with the right people – people who challenge you and allow you to grow. Teamwork is king!

This is probably a truism, but you cannot succeed as an individual unless you delegate duties at some point. To do that, you need talented and enthusiastic people next to you whom you trust. This is valid for many positions.

What do you enjoy most about working at gravity9?

There are no corporate rules here. The structure above us does not have ten management levels, so to get something done, there is no need to wait weeks for multiple approvals. While we do have some leadership structure, it is still very flat.

Tell us about your hobbies and interests. What do you do in your spare time?

A classic tale – I have two small kids – so I do not have spare time!

Although it’s true, it is a positive. Having children is the most crucial mission in my life, so I would like to spend as much valuable time with my sons as possible.

I recently started playing tennis. Although I am a beginner, I would like to develop my skills if time permits, and I really enjoy it.

What would be your dream vacation?

I want to be in an overwater bungalow in the Maldives with my family. I want to be somewhere away from civilization, with my phone turned off, enjoying the endless ocean with my wife, and playing in the sand with my sons.

Who inspires you, and why?

I really admire people with severe health issues who have the strength to stay positive and enjoy their lives. They make me aware of how happy I am and how grateful I am for my own life.

What really grinds your gears (your pet peeve)?

I am triggered every single time I clean my car, and the day after, it’s raining!

What’s your favorite quote?

What’s your favorite book, movie, or TV series (and why do you love it)?

Star Trek Wars! Especially the original trilogy and the prequels. Recently, the expanded universe has been losing its magic for me (because of the number of new movies and TV series), but still, Star Wars has a special place in my heart. The latest Dune movies also made a great impression on me.

Regarding TV series’… I love Dark, streaming on Netflix.
